Victorian-period button of the Queen’s Own Oxfordshire Yeomanry Cavalry, produced to the long-serving 1837–1888 pattern. The design features the regiment’s distinctive crowned centre, encircled by the text “THE QUEEN’S OWN / OYC”. Worn on full dress and service garments, buttons of this pattern were standard throughout much of the regiment’s 19th-century existence.
Struck in white metal. The reverse is fitted with the original loop shank, consistent with mid-19th-century production styles.
Condition
Very good, with light, even wear from age. The design remains clearly defined, and the shank is intact and firmly set.
