Imperial German Seitengewehr 98/05 Butcher Bayonet, made for the commonly used Mauser Gewehr 1898 rifle, marked on the spine with the monogram of Wilhelm II of Prussia, the date is unclear but looks like either 1916 or 1918. The ricasso is marked “Durkopp Werke A.G” within a triangle with the trademark logo. Marked with the usual acceptance mark on the top of the pommel
Overall condition: Acceptable, the blade has some deep ridges, presumably from rust damage, as well as some significant dents in the scabbard and crossguard. One of the dents has broken the brazing joint in the scabbard.
