British War Medal 1914-20, Private Alfred Pragett, Rifle Brigade (TF)

Born in 1875 in Barnet, Hertfordshire. He enlisted into the Army Service Corps in 1892 (service number “T/10758”), possibly later serving in the Boer War under the 2nd Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment (service number “4520”), earning the Queen’s South Africa (QSA) medal with Wittebergen and Cape Colony clasps, but seemingly not the King’s South Africa (KSA). He later served in the 24th Rifle Brigade (Territorial Force) in India from the 12th of February 1916 until he was demobilised on the 6th of April 1919. He was not entitled to the victory medal. His alternative service number during the Great War was “206510”
