British 1914-15 Star Medal, Private Reginald James William Woolf, 2/10th Middlesex Regiment (KIA in the 2nd Battle of Gaza 19/04/1917)

Born in Hendon, North London in 1895, Reginald enlisted in the 9th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment on the 17th of February, 1915 and joined the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 8th of August 1915. On November 27th, he was admitted for rheumatism, later rejoining the regiment on the 29th of February 1916. He was put on active duty from the 24th June 1916.

In the 2nd Battle of Gaza, he was killed on the 3rd day of the attack to attempt to take Gaza from Ottoman forces. He was one of the 35 other ranks in the battalion to die in this attack. He was buried in the Gaza Military Cemetery.
