Victory Medal, Private George Barker, 2nd Battalion, Essex Regiment (Killed in Action 10th January 1915)
Born in Radwinter, Saffron Walden, on the 25th November 1887 to parents James and Martha Barker. He lived in Stratford at the time of enlisting and disembarked in France on the 14th of September 1914. He was killed in action on January 10th, 1915, in Le Gheer, Belgium, bordering France, during poor weather. He was 1 of the 19 killed during this month in the 2nd Battalion, Essex Regiment
