An original Victorian British 1846 Pattern Master-at-Arms Warrant Officer’s sword, complete with its brass-mounted leather scabbard. This regulation pattern was introduced for Master-at-Arms and other senior warrant officers of the Royal Navy during the mid-19th century to replace the earlier 1827 pattern. The sword features a slightly curved, single-edged blade with a single fuller, etched with naval motifs including a Tudor-crowned fouled anchor as well as the Royal Coat of Arms with the Victorian crown. The hilt is of brass, with a half-basket guard incorporating a crowned anchor motif, stepped pommel, and wire-bound fishskin grip. The brass-mounted scabbard is fitted with two suspension rings and a throat mount.

Condition
Good. The blade retains visible etching, with areas of patina and light pitting. Grip covering is mostly there, with some small patches of damage. The binding is mostly absent. The brass hilt shows a pleasing aged tone. The scabbard is solid, with some light surface wear and little major damage.
