An original British 1907 Pattern bayonet manufactured by Wilkinson in November 1917. This pattern was the standard bayonet for the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield (SMLE) rifle throughout the First World War. Produced by several major makers, the Wilkinson Sword Company was one of the key wartime contractors, supplying high-quality equipment to the British Army. This example features a single-edged, fullered steel blade with a distinct point. The steel crossguard has a muzzle ring, and the pommel incorporates a working press-catch release. Fitted with original wooden grips secured by two bolts. Complete with its steel-mounted black leather scabbard

The ricasso bears the Wilkinson maker’s mark, crown inspection stamp, and date “11’17.

Condition
Good. The blade retains its markings with some of its original finish remaining. The wooden grips are intact and secure, with some bruising. The scabbard leather is in very good condition, and the mounts are firm. The locking catch is functional.
