A cast metal shoulder title associated with the South African Cape Corps, conforming to the pattern in use during the First World War period, c.1915–1918. This WW1 South African military shoulder title displays the unit’s name “CAPE CORPS” in 2 lines, executed in a solid cast brass construction typical of some South African Expeditionary Force insignia of the era. Intended for wear on service dress uniforms, it represents a historically significant example of Cape Corps militaria and Commonwealth First World War collectable insignia. The reverse retains the original lugs for attachment and reflects standard wartime manufacturing characteristics.

Dimensions
Approx. 28mm x 40mm

Condition
Very good overall condition, however crude, with a clean patina and minimal handling wear. Lettering remains defined, and the reverse fittings are intact and secure. No damage, repairs, or alterations are evident. This is a desirable original example for collectors of South African military badges, Cape memorabilia, and British Empire military history.
