Victorian Lincolnshire Regiment officer’s gilt uniform button produced to the 1881–1901 pattern, corresponding to the early period following the Childers Reforms and the Victorian era designation of the regiment. This British Army infantry officer’s button displays the recognised Lincolnshire Regiment insignia in clear relief, incorporating the regiment’s battle honour of “Egypt” with the Sphinx in the centre and the regimental title “The Lincolnshire Regiment” in a circlet surrounding. Manufactured in gilt metal with a polished finish, it reflects the higher-quality construction and finish associated with officer-grade uniform fittings of the Victorian period.
Lincolnshire Regiment officers’ buttons of this pattern were intended for wear on officer tunics and full dress uniforms and are collected as examples of Victorian British Army officer insignia, infantry regiment militaria, and historic uniform components from the late 19th century. The reverse is fitted with a traditional shank fitting for secure attachment.
Condition
Excellent overall condition with a bright gilt finish and minimal surface wear. Relief detailing remains sharp and clearly defined, and the reverse shank is intact and secure. No damage, repairs, or alterations are evident.
NOTE:
The reverse may vary
