Queen’s Royal Regiment (West Surrey) officer’s uniform button, 26mm size, of the pattern worn between 1909 and 1959. This officer-grade button features the regiment’s distinctive device in fine relief, incorporating the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei) bearing a flag, with the date of “1661” and the title scroll reading “The Queen’s Royal Regt.” and a naval crown above, all executed in gilt consistent with high-quality officer uniform fittings.
The Lamb of God emblem is central to the regiment’s long-standing identity, reflecting its historic origins and status as one of the senior line infantry regiments of the British Army. Officers’ buttons of this type were worn on service dress and full dress uniforms, reflecting rank and regimental distinction.
Manufactured in gilt metal with a loop shank fitting to the reverse, this example provides a well-defined representation of twentieth-century British infantry insignia.
