Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment brass button (1919–1958 pattern), 26mm example of British Army uniform insignia associated with the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment. This pattern dates from the post-First World War period through to the regiment’s amalgamation in the late 1950s, encompassing service during the Second World War and early post-war era.

The button design features the regiment’s distinctive device in relief, incorporating the hart deer emblem, together with the surrounding regimental title. The brass construction reflects traditional British military uniform manufacture, providing a durable finish intended for regular polishing.

Buttons of this type were worn on service dress and other uniform garments by personnel of the regiment, serving both a practical fastening role and as a clear indicator of regimental affiliation. The 26mm size corresponds to use on tunics and outer garments where larger buttons were required.

The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment was formed in 1919 through the retitling of the Bedfordshire Regiment, recognising wartime service and recruitment connections with Hertfordshire. The regiment continued to serve in multiple theatres during the Second World War before later amalgamation into successor regiments.

Manufactured in brass with a shank fitting to the reverse, this example represents a classic piece of 20th-century British regimental uniform insignia suitable for display or collection.
