The Highland Light Infantry was a historic Scottish infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1881 through the amalgamation of the 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot and 74th (Highland) Regiment of Foot. The HLI served in numerous campaigns, including the First and Second World Wars, before being amalgamated into the Royal Highland Fusiliers in 1959.
