British Army-issued folding jack knife, manufactured by Wilson, Sheffield. This rugged and practical pattern was standard issue to British and Commonwealth troops during the Second World War, designed for reliability and versatility in the field.
The knife features a main blade and can opener, all housed within durable black chequered fibre grips riveted to steel liners. The tang of the can opener is stamped “WILSON / SHEFFIELD”, together with the broad arrow ordnance mark, confirming official military issue. A steel bail loop is fitted at the end for attachment to a lanyard — an essential feature for naval and field use.
This design was widely used across all services, including the Army, Royal Navy, and RAF, and remains one of the most iconic pieces of British wartime kit.
