Saxon 1845 pattern short sword in brass mounted brown leather scabbard with a leather strap for belt carry. Single-edged 480mm steel blade, marked on the ricasso with the imperial crown and “FR”. Brass hilt and cross guard, marked “12. A. E. 1. 98” (12th Artillery Reserve).
