16th/5th The Queen’s Royal Lancers brass uniform button featuring the King’s Crown, produced for wear following the amalgamation of the 16th The Queen’s Lancers and the 5th Lancers (Royal Irish) in 1922. This British Army cavalry button displays the recognised insignia of the 16th/5th Queen’s Royal Lancers in clear relief, incorporating the regiment’s lancer emblem and elements arranged in a formal and balanced composition. The King’s Crown denotes issue during the reigns of George V, Edward VIII, or George VI. Manufactured in brass with a polished finish, it reflects the standard construction associated with inter-war and Second World War period British cavalry uniform hardware.

16th/5th Queen’s Royal Lancers buttons of this pattern were intended for wear on tunics and ceremonial dress and are collected as examples of British Army cavalry militaria, King’s Crown insignia, and historic regimental uniform components. The reverse is fitted with a traditional shank fitting for secure attachment.

Condition
Very good overall condition, retaining a clean brass finish with minimal surface wear. Relief detailing remains sharp and clearly defined, and the reverse shank is intact and secure. No damage, repairs, or alterations are evident.
