1st King’s Dragoon Guards / 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards nickel cap badge produced as a restrike of the pattern worn from the Second World War as well as after the union of the 1st King’s Dragoon Guards and The Queen’s Bays (2nd Dragoon Guards), forming the 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards. This British Army cavalry cap badge displays the recognised regimental insignia in clear relief, incorporating the Imperial Austrian eagle associated with the regiment, arranged in a formal composition characteristic of British Army headdress insignia. The design reflects the lineage of both antecedent regiments within the Royal Armoured Corps.
Manufactured in a nickel finish consistent with service dress and beret wear, this restrike example provides a sharply defined representation of the original pattern. 1st King’s / Queen’s Dragoon Guards cap badges are collected as examples of post-war British Army cavalry militaria, Royal Armoured Corps insignia, and amalgamated regiment uniform hardware. The reverse is fitted with standard lug fittings for secure attachment to a cap or beret.
