Air Training Corps (ATC) economy cap badge, manufactured in plastic (Bakelite-type material) during the Second World War. Introduced as a wartime economy measure due to metal shortages, these lightweight plastic badges were issued to the ATC, an auxiliary cadet organisation formed in 1941 supporting the Royal Air Force.
This badge features the ATC eagle-in-flight emblem, with the words “Air Training Corps” in raised lettering on a circlet. Moulded in a silver coloured plastic, the reverse retains the original blade-style fixings.
Condition: Good, slightly distorted. Fixings intact and functional.
Dimensions: Approx. 38mm x 36mm
