A contemporary miniature of the India General Service Medal (1936), complete with the “NORTH WEST FRONTIER 1936–37” campaign clasp. These miniatures were privately purchased for mess dress wear and closely follow the design of the official George VI issue.
Description
A finely detailed miniature of the George VI India General Service Medal:

Form: Circular medal in silvered or white metal.

Obverse: Crowned effigy of King George VI facing left.

Legend: “GEORGIVS VI D.G: BR OMN: REX ET INDIAE IMP.” (pre-1948 imperial title).

Reverse: side view of a tiger standing astride a mountain range with the word ‘INDIA’ above.

Suspension: Correct ornate swivel suspender, as per the full-size medal.
Clasp
One miniature clasp fitted:

Representing service during the operations on the North-West Frontier of India, particularly in Waziristan and adjacent tribal areas.
The clasp is rendered in miniature form in silvered metal with raised lettering.

Condition
Very good. An attractive and sharply struck contemporary miniature showing good detail to both the obverse portrait and reverse scene. Ribbon is clean and neatly mounted, with a well-defined clasp.
