Forester Brigade anodised button, 1960–1963 Pattern, a 25.5mm British Army uniform button associated with the Forester Brigade during the period of post-war regimental reorganisation. Manufactured in anodised aluminium, the lightweight construction is characteristic of British Army uniform insignia introduced during the mid-twentieth century.
The Forester Brigade was formed in 1958 as part of the reorganisation of infantry regiments, bringing together the traditions of the Sherwood Foresters and the Worcestershire Regiment. The brigade structure was subsequently reorganised in 1963, making the 1960–1963 pattern a short-lived form of British Army regimental insignia. Buttons from this brief period are of particular interest to collectors of post-war British military uniform, brigade buttons, Sherwood Foresters and Worcestershire Regiment history.
This example is suitable for collections covering British Army reorganisation during the late 1950s and early 1960s, anodised aluminium buttons, Forester Brigade insignia and the development of modern British infantry regimental structures.
Dimensions
25.5mm diameter.
Condition
Very good overall condition with light age-related wear and surface patination. The anodised aluminium retains clear definition to the principal design and the button is suitable for display or inclusion in a collection of post-war British Army insignia.
