An original Highland Light Infantry glengarry badge of King’s Crown pattern, dating to the WWII era. The badge displays the regiment’s crowned monogram set within the traditional light infantry bugle and star design associated with the HLI, produced to wartime standards with characteristic stamped brass lugs. This pattern would have been worn by HLI personnel on a glengarry head-dress during the years surrounding the Second World War, making it a desirable period example for collectors of Scottish regimental insignia.
Dimensions
Approx. 53mm x 53mm
Condition
Good original condition with clear, well-defined detail and an attractive aged patina. One of the stamped lugs is split; however complete. Light handling wear only, with some thick verdigris on the elephant.
