King’s Own Scottish Borderers (KOSB) brass Glengarry cap badge (1902–1953 pattern) – restrike example of British Army headdress insignia associated with the King’s Own Scottish Borderers. This pattern reproduces the badge worn during the reigns of Edward VII, George V, and George VI, prior to the introduction of the Queen’s Crown in 1953.
The badge features the regiment’s distinctive insignia in brass, incorporating the crowned St. Andrew’s cross and regimental devices traditionally associated with the King’s Own Scottish Borderers. Designed for wear on the Scottish Glengarry cap, the badge reflects the proud heritage and identity of one of Scotland’s oldest infantry regiments.
Glengarry badges of this type were worn by officers and other ranks as a visible symbol of regimental affiliation and formed an important part of Scottish military dress. The original pattern accompanied the regiment through numerous campaigns and periods of service, including the First World War and World War II.
As a restrike example, this badge was manufactured after the original period of issue but faithfully reproduces the appearance and details of the historic pattern. Such badges are popular with collectors, reenactors, and enthusiasts of Scottish military history seeking an attractive representation of the original design.
Manufactured in brass with attachment fittings to the reverse, this example represents a quality reproduction of a classic Scottish regimental cap badge.
