King’s Own Scottish Borderers (KOSB) Glengarry cap badge produced as a restrike of the pattern worn between 1902 and 1953 by the King’s Own Scottish Borderers of the British Army. This British Army Scottish infantry headdress badge displays the recognised insignia of the regiment in clear relief, incorporating the distinctive Saltire and castle in a wreath, surrounded by a circlet bearing the regimental motto and flanked below and above with the motto “In Veritate Religionis Confido” (I put my trust in the truth of religion) and “Nisi Dominus Frustra” (Without the Lord, everything is in vain)”. The composition is surmounted by the King’s Crown, reflecting the pattern worn during the reigns of King Edward VII, King George V, and King George VI.

The design reflects the regiment’s Scottish heritage and its long service as a line infantry regiment of the British Army. Worn on the Glengarry bonnet as part of traditional Scottish headdress, the design is characteristic of Scottish regimental badges of the early twentieth century and was worn during both the First and Second World War periods.

Manufactured in white metal consistent with Highland and Lowland Scottish headdress insignia, this restrike example provides a sharply defined representation of the original King’s Crown era pattern.
