Loyal North Lancashire Regiment (1896-1901 Pattern) Cap Badge, Original

An original and scarce Victorian cap badge of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, worn from around 1896 until the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.
This early pattern features a die-struck bi-metal design with a brass rose of Lancashire in the centre, with the scroll below reading “Loyal North Lancashire”, surmounted by a white metal Victorian Crown (VR). Fitted to the reverse with its original east-west copper lugs, typical of Victorian manufacture.

This badge was worn during the latter years of Queen Victoria’s reign, including the period of the Second Boer War. It was later replaced with a King’s Crown version following Edward VII’s coronation in 1901.

Condition: Very Good – Crisp detail, some age-related patina, original lugs intact and firm.
