Polish PPS-43 submachine gun manufactured in 1953 by Zakłady Metalowe Wifama, produced under licence from the original Soviet design of the PPS-43 developed during the Second World War. This example represents post-war Polish production of the widely issued wartime design, adapted for continued service within Warsaw Pact forces.
The PPS-43 is a compact, stamped-metal submachine gun chambered in 7.62×25mm Tokarev, designed for simplicity, reliability, and ease of mass production. It features a folding metal stock, perforated barrel shroud, and a 35-round detachable curved box magazine, all contributing to its distinctive utilitarian appearance. The design was originally intended for use by armoured crews, paratroopers, and support troops, offering a lightweight and robust automatic weapon suitable for close-quarters combat.
This example has been deactivated to EU specification, rendering it inert and incapable of firing, with all modifications carried out in accordance with current deactivation standards. Despite deactivation, the firearm retains its original external appearance, with its moving cocking handle under spring tension, and mechanical form, making it suitable for display, collection, and historical study. Condition
Very good overall condition with light age-related wear and well-preserved metal surfaces. The deactivation work is professionally executed, and the mechanism is fixed in accordance with EU standards. Markings remain clear and legible. No significant damage or alterations beyond deactivation are evident.
