This officer’s button was worn by members of the Princess Charlotte of Wales’s (Royal Berkshire) Regiment during the late Victorian period. Introduced following the regiment’s formation under the 1881 Childers Reforms, the design reflects the high-quality silver-plated insignia typical of officer dress of the era. Its emblem and finish correspond to the pattern used until the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.
