Royal Horse Guards cap badge produced as a restrike of the GRV cypher pattern worn between 1910 and 1936 by the Royal Horse Guards of the British Army. This British Army Household Cavalry cap badge displays the recognised insignia of the regiment in clear relief, incorporating the crowned royal cypher of King George V as the central device, arranged within a circlet reading the regimental title “Royal Horse Guards”, a composition typical of Household Cavalry headdress insignia of the early twentieth century.
The design reflects the regiment’s distinguished position within the Household Division and its service during the First World War and inter-war period. The crowned GRV cypher forms the principal device of the badge, symbolising direct royal association and the regiment’s ceremonial and operational role within the British Army.
Manufactured in brass consistent with service dress wear, this restrike example offers a sharply defined representation of the original King George V era pattern. Royal Horse Guards cap badges are collected as examples of Household Cavalry militaria, First World War British Army insignia, and historic regimental uniform hardware.
