Bronzed uniform button of the Royal Tank Corps, produced to the 1923–1939 pattern used during the inter-war period. Following the addition of the “Royal” title in 1923, the RTC adopted distinctive insignia reflecting its specialist armoured role, and bronzed buttons such as this were worn on service dress and working uniforms prior to the Corps becoming the Royal Tank Regiment in 1939.
The button is die-struck in metal with a bronzed finish and features the RTC monogram surmounted by the King’s Crown. The reverse is fitted with a fixed shank for sewing to uniform garments.
Diameter
26mm
Condition
Very good, with clear detail and an even bronzed finish. Light surface wear is present, consistent with age and use, and the shank remains intact and secure.
