2nd Life Guards cap badge produced as a restrike of the GRV cypher pattern worn during the reign of King George V, circa 1910–1922. This British Army Household Cavalry cap badge displays the recognised insignia of the 2nd Life Guards in clear relief, incorporating the crowned GRV cypher as the central device within a circlet which reads “Second Life Guards”, arranged in a formal composition characteristic of Household Cavalry headdress insignia. The design reflects the regiment’s status within the Household Division and its service during the First World War period.
Manufactured in a brass finish consistent with full dress and service dress wear, this restrike example offers a sharply defined representation of the original King George V era pattern. 2nd Life Guards GRV cap badges are collected as examples of First World War British Army militaria, Household Cavalry insignia, and historic regimental uniform hardware. The reverse is fitted with standard lug fittings for secure attachment to a cap or helmet.
