An original Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment) brass shoulder title, of the 1902–1920 Pattern, worn by soldiers of the regiment during the Edwardian and First World War periods. The Sherwood Foresters were a line infantry regiment of the British Army, drawing their heritage from the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire militias and volunteer battalions.
This early 20th-century die-stamped brass shoulder title follows the standard three-line Territorial pattern, reading “NOTTS / AND / DERBY”, with integral brass loops to the reverse for secure attachment to the shoulder strap of the service tunic or greatcoat.
