Original South African Police (Zuid Afrikaanse Politie) uniform button, dating from the early Union of South Africa era (1913–1926). This early pattern features the King’s Crown above a central cap badge design with the “Zuid” spelling, which changed around 1926.

Struck in brass with a 25mm diameter, this button would have been worn on the tunics of police constables and officers during a period of growing state formation and national policing. A fine example of early South African law enforcement insignia under British colonial administration.
