South West Africa Territorial Force (SWATF) nickel button, manufactured during the operational period of the force from 1977 to 1989. Measuring 23mm in diameter, this medium-sized uniform button features the official SWATF emblem of the Gazelle facing straight on.

Formed as a regional defence component under South African command during the counterinsurgency conflict against indigenous nationalists in what was then South West Africa. This button would have been worn on service dress tunics by enlisted personnel or NCOs.

Condition: Very good. Shank intact on reverse.
