Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment anodised button (1970–2007 pattern), a 26mm example of modern British Army uniform insignia associated with the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment. This regiment was formed in 1970 through the amalgamation of the Worcestershire Regiment and the Sherwood Foresters, serving until its later incorporation into the Mercian Regiment.

The button design features the regiment’s insignia in relief, incorporating elements derived from its antecedent regiments. Executed in an anodised aluminium (often referred to as “anodised” or “staybrite”) finish provides a bright, polished appearance without the need for regular cleaning, reflecting modern uniform standards introduced in the latter half of the 20th century.

Buttons of this type were worn on service dress and other uniform items, serving as a clear indicator of regimental affiliation. The 1970–2007 pattern places this example within the period of the regiment’s active service prior to its amalgamation into newer structures within the British Army.

This example represents a standard piece of late 20th-century British military uniform insignia, illustrating the transition from traditional brass buttons to maintenance-free anodised alternatives.

Manufactured in anodised metal with a shank fitting to the reverse, the button is lightweight, durable, and suitable for display or use within a collection of modern British militaria.
