An original example of the Hampshire Regiment’s Foreign Service helmet (pagri) badge, worn during overseas deployments in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods.
Die-struck in brass, this badge was designed for wear on the khaki Foreign Service helmet (often known as the sun helmet or pith helmet), pinned through the pagri (cloth band). It features the regiment’s heraldic rose below a Royal tiger with scroll reading “Hampshire”. The crown above is the Imperial Crown, typically denoting manufacture during the reign of Victoria.

The reverse has its original east-west copper-eyed lugs, which allowed for secure fastening through the folds of the helmet band. This type of badge was standard issue for use in hot climates, including India, Africa, and the Middle East.

Condition: Very Good –  fine detail to rose and tiger, original wire loops intact and functional, however, there is a small hole pierced through the circle of the “P” in Hampshire
Dimensions: Approx. 64mm x 53mm
