An original British Army WWII Jungle Machete, dated 1943 and manufactured by JJB
Designed for cutting dense undergrowth in the jungles of the Far East and Burma Campaign, this machete features a broad, heavy steel blade stamped “JJB 1943”, with the broad arrow. The full tang blade is fitted with solid slab grips, securely riveted with a hole to allow for a lanyard.
Complete with the typical brown leather scabbard with securing strap and integral frog for wear on webbing equipment. Marked on the reverse of the frog “DM&S Ltd./1945” with a broad arrow stamp
Condition: Good original condition. The blade appears to have been resharpened, with typical marks and dings on the edge. Wooden grips are secure and intact with no major cracks or repairs. Clear date and maker’s mark.
