British War Medal, Private (later Lance Corporal) Harry Porter, Coldstream Guards (later Guards Machine Gun Battalion/Guards Machine Gun Regiment)
Originally served in the Coldstream Guards and entered France on the 12th August 1914. He would continue to serve in the Coldstream Guards, likely when he received his promotion to Lance Corporal. On the 1st of February 1917, he joined the newly formed Guards Machine Gun Battalion under the new service number “622”. This would later be named the Guards Machine Gun Regiment.
He was also entitled to the 1914 “Mons” Star with ” 5th AUG.–22nd NOV. 1914″ clasp, as well as the Allied Victory Medal
