Ugandan Luwero Triangle Medal issued by the Republic of Uganda to commemorate service connected with the liberation struggle fought in the Luwero region during the Ugandan Bush War of 1981 to 1986. The decoration recognises individuals who contributed to or supported the National Resistance Army (NRA) during the conflict that ultimately led to the establishment of the National Resistance Movement government in 1986.

The medal’s design reflects the guerrilla operations during the conflict, with the obverse incorporating a militant holding up a rifle with “Luwero Triangle Medal” around the triangular border. The reverse reads “People’s Armed Struggle”. The medal is suspended from a ribbon in colours representing Uganda’s national identity.

Instituted as part of Uganda’s national honours and awards system, the Luwero Triangle Medal is awarded to participants, supporters, and individuals recognised for their role in the liberation effort. Decorations of this type are collected as examples of modern African military and state honours, as well as artefacts connected with the history of Uganda’s Bush War period.
