King’s Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) brass button (1921–1953 pattern), a 25mm example of British Army regimental uniform insignia associated with the King’s Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster). This pattern was in use during the interwar period, the Second World War, and the early post-war years up to the coronation transition of 1953.

The button design features the regiment’s distinctive device in relief, incorporating the regimental title “King’s Own Royal Regiment” and associated heraldic elements of the Royal Lion and Lancaster rose beneath the appropriate King’s Crown used during the reigns of George V and George VI. The brass construction reflects the standard British military uniform manufacture of the period, intended for durability and regular polishing.

Buttons of this type were worn on service dress and other uniform garments by officers and enlisted personnel of the regiment, serving both a practical fastening role and as a visible symbol of regimental identity. The 25mm size corresponds to use on tunics and outer garments where larger buttons were required.

The King’s Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) is one of the oldest infantry regiments in the British Army, with origins dating back to the late 17th century, and served extensively throughout the British Empire and both World Wars.

Manufactured in brass with a shank fitting to the reverse, this example represents a classic piece of British regimental insignia suitable for collectors of militaria and regimental history.
