The King’s Own Scottish Borderers were a distinguished Scottish infantry regiment of the British Army with a history extending back to the seventeenth century. The regiment was formed in 1881 through the amalgamation of the 25th (King’s Own Borderers) Regiment of Foot and the 1st King’s Own Scottish Borderers Militia, and subsequently became known by the familiar abbreviation KOSB.

The regiment recruited primarily from the Scottish Borders and surrounding areas and maintained a strong regional identity throughout its service. The King’s Own Scottish Borderers served in numerous campaigns and conflicts, including the First World War, Second World War, and subsequent post-war operations. Its battle honours reflect service across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
