Manufactured in anodised aluminium, this 25.5mm uniform button bears the distinctive badge of the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment surmounted by the St Edward’s Crown (Queen’s Crown), identifying it as the pattern worn during the reign of Elizabeth II. The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment was formed in 1992 through the amalgamation of the Queen’s Regiment and the Royal Hampshire Regiment, bringing together the traditions of several historic infantry regiments from the south of England. The regiment inherited a distinguished lineage dating back over three centuries, including the traditions of the Queen’s Own Buffs, East Kent Regiment, Royal Sussex Regiment, and Hampshire Regiment.
Known as “The Tigers”, the regiment has maintained a strong operational reputation since its formation. During the Queen’s Crown period, PWRR soldiers served in numerous deployments, including Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Sierra Leone, Iraq, and Afghanistan, undertaking infantry operations, training missions, and global security commitments.
